Research On Network Political Participation Of Contemporary Chinese College Students

College students’ online political participation is an important part of citizens’ online political participation,it plays a role that cannot be underestimated in the democratic political life of the country.As the main force of Internet users,contemporary Chinese university students have a high awareness of online political participation.Their understanding of the Internet is relatively high and they attach importance to political participation.These students play an important role in online political participation.However,there are some urgent problems in the process of online political participation of contemporary Chinese university students.It is necessary to lead these students participation in online political in order,which is essential to promote the development of national democratic politics and the construction of harmonious socialist society.The study on the online political participation of university students mainly uses the literature research method,theoretical analysis method and questionnaire survey method.Firstly,through reading the representative literature at home and abroad,we sort out the relevant theories on online political participation,focusing on summarizing the theories of Marxist classical writers on political participation and the relevant discussions on political participation by successive Chinese leaders.Secondly,in order to have more realistic understanding of the recent situation of online political participation of contemporary Chinese college students,a questionnaire survey was conducted by selecting college students in different regions and levels,and by investigating the willingness,motivation,ability,platforms and content of online political participation of contemporary college students,and online the characteristics of participation platforms,participation content and participation behavior.The survey also summarized the problems in the process of online political participation of contemporary Chinese university students,including the lack of willingness to participate in online politics,impure motives,the need to improve the ability to participate,the need to strengthen the construction of online platforms,and the uneven quality of online content.Finally,targeted and feasible solutions are proposed from three levels: the government should strengthen the construction of network legal system,strengthen the construction of network platform;and strengthen the construction of network content.Universities should offer relevant courses to strengthen theoretical learning;Carrying out relevant activities to provide practical opportunities.University students should also improve their online political participation literacy and regulate their online political participation behavior,through the tripartite joint efforts aiming to guide contemporary university students to orderly online political participation and promote the further development of national socialist democratic politics.
