| Afghanistan is strategically important for both India and Pakistan,as well as for their neighbors who share a border with it and an important route into Central Asia.The main research question of this study is: Why did Pakistan intend to have influence in political process of Afghanistan,while India wanted to exercise its soft power towards Afghanistan after 9/11? Such leads to two sub-questions.First,what goals and strategies Pakistan and India adopted towards Afghanistan in the post 9/11scenario? Second,How Pakistan exercise hard power and India soft power in Afghanistan after 9/11?In order to respond to this research question as well as to the sub questions,the study uses materials from both,primary and secondary sources.The study will comprise comparative analysis as it will compare the Pakistan and India Policy towards Afghanistan after 9/11.The study will also follow the qualitative Design with the Secondary Data Collection Technique.Library Search Method will use as the Searching Strategy,and theoretical sampling will be used to collect relevant data from available online resources.As far as the Philosophy of research is concerned,it will be the Realism philosophy that the study will conduct.In order to present the comparative analysis of policies of both countries,narrative Analysis,Grounded Theory,and Thematic Analysis will use.The study will provide a broader aspect of how policies of Pakistan & India varied after 9/11 toward Afghanistan and the main interest and dominating factors of policies towards Afghanistan.The study is divided into five chapters.Chapter one,Introduction,includes the Background of the Study,Objectives of the Study,Research Questions,Main argument,Research Methodology,Literature Review and Structure of the Thesis.The second Chapter gives the overview of the Background of the background of PakistanIndia conflict and competition in Afghanistan.Moreover,it discusses The Status of Afghanistan in Foreign Policy of Pakistan and India.Almost every country in the globe recognizes India’s soft power approach.Following the collapse of the Taliban rule in 2001,India provided considerable support to Afghanistan’s national regime.Ever since,India has played a significant role in Afghanistan’s rehabilitation and wealth creation.India is among Afghanistan’s largest benefactors,and the two nations have inked several contracts and bilateral cooperation.India has indeed been engaged in several development programs since 2001.For instance,India has donated $ 100 million dollars for a 280-kilometer road connecting Afghanistan to the Iranian borders.Likewise,the Salma Dam construction was rebuilt with India’s support.The fourth chapter tries to explain the impacts of Pakistan and India’s policies towards Afghanistan on Soft Power Great Game,Impact of India’s Policy on Cultural and Political Relations,Educational Development and Impacts in Favour of India,Medical and Health Development and Indian Image,India’s Soft Power and Economic Aid Policy.Finally,the fifth chapter concludes by making some recommendations.Afghanistan’s rehabilitation is heavily reliant on both countries’ assistance.The Afghan government should make all accessible and visible support for the country’s reconstruction available,particularly in areas such as education,health care,industry and finance,and defense. |
