Taishan is not only a famous cultural mountain,but also a Taoist holy place,which has a deep Taoist cultural heritage and a rich Taoist music culture due to special historical reasons.Based on the author’s actual observations,this paper takes the Taoist koan music of Mount Tai as the object of study,and uses the annual"Jiuhuangzhai" koan and its music as the basic description and analysis,using field research,literature combing and other relevant research methods to investigate and analyse its cultural background,historical development,koan and its musical form.The main body of the text consists of an introduction,four chapters,and a conclusion.The first chapter is a review of the history of Taoism in Taishan,its folk beliefs and the history of koan music.In the second chapter,the author describes and analyses the environment,processes and procedures of the rituals based on the relevant literature and the materials collected from fieldwork.In the third chapter,a selection of typical ritual songs is made,a morphological analysis of their state and appearance is made and their musical characteristics are outlined.In the fourth chapter,the symbolic meaning and social function of the music of the Taoist rituals in Taishan are analysed from a variety of perspectives,including religious and anthropological.
