| Synonyms have been difficult for international students to learn Chinese,because it is easy to make synonym usage errors.Therefore,synonym discrimination teaching is paramount.This thesis focuses on a pair of synonyms,“大概da4gai4”and“大约da4yue1”,by conducting large-scale corpus-based analyses.Combining both quantitative and qualitative approach,semantic feature analysis,error analysis and comparative analysis were conducted to make comparative analysis and error analysis of“Dagai”and“Dayue”.Taking both an traditional and a practical perspective,study may provide insights for the lexicography definition and the teaching of second language analysis.This paper is organized in five Chapters.Chapter one first introduces the motivation of this topic,previous research,methodology and data,and then reviews the previous research achievements and controversies in this field.Chapter two,by conducting corpus analysis,clarifies the parts of speech of “Dagai” and “Dayue”,clarify the crossed meanings,the semantic features,and enriches the definition.Chapter three analyzes the syntactic position and function of “Dagai” and “Dayue”,and explores their collocations with quantifiers,volitional verbs,and the words “是Shi4” and “有 You3”.Chapter four summarizes the division of function and exchange conditions of “Dagai” and “Dayue”.Chapter five sorts out the types and causes of the errors,and puts forward specific teaching suggestions.The last part is the conclusion,which summarizes the content of this paper and points out the deficiencies of this paper.The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly,in terms of definition,this paper holds that both of them can be used as an adjective and an adverb,and “Dagai” can also be used as a noun.When used as an adverb,both of them mean “imprecise speculation” and “rough generalization”.“Dagai” indicates an overall perspective of observation,which is an important difference between the two.In addition,“Dagai” also has semantic characteristics of euphemism and “most”,and “Dayue” has semantic characteristics of“approximate”.The second is the syntax.In terms of syntax collocation,“Dagai” is more inclined to match with the content of things and situations,while “Dayue” is more likely to be matched with quantifiers.In terms of collocations,“Dagai” is more speculative,while "Dayue” is more approximate.There are three types of swap conditions: unconditional swap,finite swap and non-swap.The division of function is mainly compared from three aspects: observation object,collocation with quantifiers and style distribution.Third,in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,two of the most common errors are missubstitution and misorder,which mainly fall into four categories: generalization of synonyms,improper grasp of the target language,negative transfer of mother tongue grammar,vague definition of reference books and textbooks.In view of the above errors,this paper puts forward three teaching methods:“simplified semantic plus situation integration” teaching,“proportion analysis plus French language integration” teaching,and “logical evolution plus diversified comprehensive training” teaching.The main significance of this article lies in,on the one hand,enriching definitions and refining semantic features,which helps to improve the interpretation of two words in dictionaries;On the other hand,to clarify the conditions of exchange and use,and put forward targeted suggestions for second language teaching will help to differentiate and explain the two words in Chinese as a foreign language. |
