With the development of new media technology, the expression forms of comics have gradually become rich, and the importance of image narration in comics has become increasingly prominent. This study will explore the image narrative methods in comics from the perspectives of symbolic language and lens language, with the aim of revealing their important role in comic creation. From the perspective of symbolic language, the symbols in comics are divided into three categories: modeling, text, and icon symbols. The role of symbolic elements in comics in narrative is analyzed, and the combination of symbols gives rich connotations to comics.Image narration in comics is also influenced by lens language. From the perspective of lens language, this study explores the use of color, frame, and shot segmentation in image narration in comics. This study also points out that there are differences in the way comic books narrate images in different national contexts, and these differences are manifested in artistic styles and techniques of expression. When analyzing the narrative methods of images in comics,it is necessary to consider the era and cultural background of the work. This study intends to use literature analysis and case analysis methods to deeply explore the image narrative methods in comics, and use experimental methods to conduct specific application analysis in combination with my graduation project. The research and application of these theories will help cartoonists create more expressive and infectious works, provide a theoretical basis for comic research, and promote the development and innovation of the comic industry.
