The Application Strategy Of Multi-media In Film Narrative

The development of media technology in the digital age expands people’s social space,and people are increasingly inclined to use various media to communicate.In the new media era,the most representative phenomenon is that computer acts as a "space-time stitching machine",stitching together the daily text,information,images,dynamic images and other media again.When the film re-mediates,organizes and commandeers it,the multi-media has a narrative function.Under the circumstances,the media that marks the characteristics of the times is constantly interpenetrating and interweaving,playing a role in shaping images,expressing emotions,interspersing time and space,etc.Seymour Zatman,as one of the most important scholars in the field of western narratology,was the first to make a theoretical study of film narration.He divided narratology into story and discourse: story is the content of narration,including character creation and plot subject matter;discourse mainly refers to narrative structure and rhetoric.Based on narratology theory and the characteristics of multi-media narrative,this paper analyzes the application strategies of multi-media in film narration from the perspectives of characters shaping,time and space construction in narrative content,rhythm regulation in narrative rhetoric and other plays and audiovisual language in combination with specific films.The full text is divided into four chapters:The first chapter reveals the reflection of the times and the split and blurred state of modern people in the face of the media impact by introducing the shaping of the external image and inner psychology of the characters by multi-media in the film narration;The second chapter analyzes the fragmented and nonlinear perception of time and space reproduced by multi-media in film narration from the perspective of time and space,and forms a kind of self-nostalgia and media nostalgia at the same time.The third chapter discusses the rhythm of single and multi-media,between multiple media,and the transition between media and reality from the Angle of audio-visual editing logic.The fourth chapter,combined with my graduation work The Long Farewell,reflects on the gains and losses of applying multi-media to film narration in practice,aiming to complete a systematic analysis of its significance through the analysis of the application of multi-media in film narration and personal practice summary.
