Research On The Contemporary Inheritance Practice Of The Meiyuan Mangoseed Plough Festival

Meiyuan Mangcao Opening Plough Festival is a regional festival built by the Yunhe County Government under the wave of intangible cultural heritage protection,on the basis of local traditional "welcoming the gods" customs and activities,through the joint efforts of many subjects.Combined with the unique climatic conditions and traditional farming methods in the alpine terraced areas of southwest Zhejiang,the Mangseed Opening Plough Festival integrates the Mangseed solar terms in the 24 solar terms with the traditional cultural resources of "welcoming the gods" activities,and uses unique display methods to reflect the integration of solar terms culture and local belief culture,which is rich in expression,diversified in function and profound in cultural value,and is a local and active inheritance and protection practice mode of the 24 solar terms.In 2021,the Meiyuan Mangseed Opening Plough Festival was included in the fifth batch of representative items of national intangible cultural heritage,filling the gap in the list of national heritage in the 24 solar terms.The protection of intangible cultural heritage provides a large background for the performance of traditional and traditional activities,which are often closely related to tourism,and nowadays folk cultural activities with local characteristics are not only cultural business cards created by the region,but also become the realization of the economic transformation of the government and the economic interests of businesses.While integrating the tourism economy,the Mangchong Open Plough Festival explores traditional cultural resources,promotes folk culture,and makes culture and tourism mutually beneficial and win-win with a commercial operation model.In the process of being constructed by multiple subjects,the opening plough festival changes with the changes of various factors such as social development and policy adjustment in terms of ritual content,inheritance group,and ritual influence,and has both contemporary value and shortcomings in the process of development.This paper uses the literature research method and fieldwork method to sort out the history of plough opening activities,summarize the customs of plough festival activities in different regions and different ethnic groups,sort out the historical development and construction process of Meiyuan Mangseed plough festival,and describe in detail the customs of setting up buttons to welcome the gods,parading and praying,opening the plough with mangseeds,performing godly plays,and eating fairy rice in the ritual activities of the plough festival.By combing the local beliefs and ritual holding process of Meiyuan,this paper analyzes the contemporary evolution of the ritual content of the Mangchong Open Plough Festival,and discusses the motives for the evolution of the Open Plough Festival and the different roles played by local governments,local elites and local people in the process of construction and inheritance.Finally,the shortcomings of the Meiyuan Mangseed Open Plough Festival are not strongly related to the 24 solar terms,the attention to the Open Plough Festival itself is not strong,and the local people’s cultural protection awareness is weak,and on this basis,the effective measures of the protection practice of the Open Plough Festival are discussed,so that the Meiyuan Mang Seed Open Plough Festival can be better inherited and developed,and also provide experience for the development of other constructed festivals.
