Research On Lu Xun’s Grandfather Zhou Fuqing

Zhou Fuqing is the eldest patriarch of the Zhou family in Shaoxing.From his early years of study,examination for the imperial examination,and study in the Shushu Changguan,to the middle-aged release of Zhixian County,being impeached and dismissed,serving as an official in Beijing,and ending his political life due to the fraud case in the science field,although he was finally able to save his life,but spent a bleak old age,Zhou Fuqing’s bumpy experience in life has always been linked to the fate of the family and changed the trajectory of Lu Xun’s life.Starting from combing Zhou Fuqing’s life experience,this paper explores the historical details therein,and focuses on several key nodes of Zhou Fuqing’s life,and carries out careful debate and research on controversial and key issues.In addition,starting from Zhou Fuqing’s poetry collection "Tonghuage Poems",the family training "Hengxun",as well as diaries and elegy,it enriches Zhou Fuqing’s historical image and understands Zhou Fuqing’s creation,thought and character characteristics from many aspects.On the basis of fully understanding and sorting out Zhou Fuqing’s life and creation,and taking Zhou Fuqing as a clue,he further concerned about the study of Lu Xun’s works and his thoughts.Taking the concept of "Lu Xun’s origin" as the starting point,the paper argues that before Lu Xun’s "literary consciousness" proposed by Takeuchi Yoshi,there was also a period of "literary pre-consciousness",that is,although Lu Xun did not regard literature as an active undertaking or a cross to carry,in this period of pre-consciousness,a basic element that later constituted Lu Xun’s thought and literature had been formed.This period was the boyhood of Lu Xun,who was closely related to his grandfather.From this period,we can see that his grandfather left a patriarchal vacuum within Lu Xun’s family in the early years due to going out to work as an official,and fraud cases in the science field,under this vacuum,Lu Xun gained freedom,the experience of loneliness after freedom,and the double reflection and resistance of inward and outward expansion.These factors are expressed in the text,which constitutes Lu Xun’s unique literary world.
