A Study Of Omitted Sentences In Oracle Inscriptions In Yin Ruins

Omission is a common phenomenon in oracle bone inscriptions and an important part of the analysis of oracle bone inscriptions grammar.Previous scholars have studied and discussed the phenomenon of ellipsis of oracle bone inscriptions from different angles.On the basis of reviewing the research history and current situation of ellipsis of oracle bone inscriptions,this paper combines the traditional methods of ellipsis research to define the connotation of ellipsis of oracle bone inscriptions and clarify the research object of this paper.Through the study of the omission of different forms of oracle bone inscriptions,the relationship between Chongzhen,Duizhen and Xuanzhen inscriptions is regarded as the topic relationship,and the omission situation is analyzed syntactically to clarify the characteristics of the omission of the three forms of inscriptions.At the same time,the examples of syntactic ellipsis of dialogue oracle bone inscriptions are discussed.The life words,divination and verification words in a complete oracle bone inscriptions are regarded as a dialogue relationship of one question and one answer.The omission of different syntactic components is analyzed.It is found that the sentence pattern and syntax in oracle bone inscriptions are basically the same as those in modern Chinese.The main syntactic components are subject,predicate and object,and the omission of subject and object in dialogue oracle bone inscriptions is the most common.On the basis of syntactic analysis,the pragmatic omission of dialogue inscriptions is studied.The pragmatic omission of dialogue inscriptions is analyzed from the perspectives of communicative background and information structure of inscriptions.The inscriptions are put in the context of dialogue for specific analysis,so that the study of omission of inscriptions is more scientific and systematic.Finally,focusing on the subjective and objective aspects,this paper analyzes the causes of the ellipsis of oracle bone inscriptions,and discusses the important value of the study of the ellipsis of oracle bone inscriptions by analyzing the errors in the interpretation of oracle bone inscriptions and the errors in the grammatical analysis of oracle bone inscriptions caused by the ellipsis,so as to provide language materials for the study of the grammatical evolution of Chinese history.
