The Inspiration To My Creation From The Study Of Yuan Wu’s "Silent Plateau" Seires Works

Since the 20 th century,contemporary Chinese figure painting has been committed to the development and reform of artistic language and concept system on the basis of inheriting the tradition.Painters such as Xu Beihong,Jiang Zhaohe,Fang Zengxian and Zhou Changgu have made important contributions to the development of Chinese figure painting.Today,contemporary artists are still exploring the potential artistic charm of figure painting.In recent years,Yuan Wu has expanded the expression form and spiritual implication of contemporary figure painting with his unique pen and ink language,giving contemporary freehand figure painting a new look."Quiet Plateau" series of paintings spanning ten years,the number of works,witness the course of Yuan Wu’s artistic mind,plays an important role in fully understanding Yuan Wu’s artistic achievements in figure painting.Taking Yuan Wu’s "Quiet Plateau" series of paintings as the research object,this paper firstly sorts out Yuan Wu’s painting experience and the creation background of this series of paintings,and analyzes the form of Yuan Wu’s "Quiet Plateau" series of paintings from four aspects: composition,modeling,brush and ink,color.Secondly,from the "Quiet Plateau" series of art form features,artistic meaning,artistic spirit of three aspects,a more systematic summary of the series of artistic style features;Finally,on the basis of summarizing the brush and ink techniques,composition forms and artistic style characteristics of Yuan Wu’s "Quiet Plateau" series,the author analyzes the inspiration and practice brought by Yuan Wu’s "Quiet Plateau" series from three aspects: the source of inspiration,copying and thinking,application and practice.In the Silent Plateau series,Yuan Wu has profoundly shaped the mottled and powerful portraits that have been eroded by time,making the viewer feel the fate path of the depicted objects and the awe of their faith.The author will continue to learn and absorb the essence of Yuan Wu’s figure painting,enrich their own artistic language forms of expression,to achieve the purpose of improving their own artistic creation level.
