Background actors are a group of actors who play minor roles in film and television productions.Despite the glamour associated with the term, their profession does not bring them practical benefits. This group of actors has long been in an evaluation system that runs counter to the mainstream, being ignored, categorized, judged, and disciplined. The Xiangshan Film and Television City is one of the three major film and television production bases in China, with more than a thousand registered background actors. In order to appear in front of the camera, these actors endure extreme working conditions and physical suffering. However, what is even more painful is their unsustainable livelihoods and unfulfilled dreams.Under the impact of the winter of the film and television industry, the job opportunities for background actors have sharply decreased, making it difficult for them to make a living and succeed. This design is an in-depth report that focuses on the real life of Xiangshan background actors. Why did they come to Xiangshan Film and Television City? What are their real living conditions? How do they face the dual challenges of body and mind?In the confrontation between dreams and reality, what choices have they made?Meanwhile,by paying attention to the social security issues of background actors, this project will explore the difficulties that they face, call for society to give more respect to this group, provide judgment criteria for young people who plan to engage in the film and television industry, and provide references and guidance to solve the security issues of background actors across the country, thus endowing the article with some cuttingedge thinking.
