In the long history of the development of Chinese landscape painting, there are many works with rural areas as the theme of painting. In the landscape paintings of the Song Dynasty, rural images such as "mountain dwelling","fishing village" and "cattle herding" can often be seen.Among the folk painters, there are also specialized in the theme of "village and field music",depicting the life scenes of rural people. The ancients have never been stingy in praising the beautiful rural scenery, and they also have many forms of artistic means to praise the beautiful rural life and quiet natural scenery, among which the relationship between rural poetry and rural painting is particularly close. In the Song Dynasty,in the communication between literati, there was a phenomenon of mutual penetration and mutual influence between idyllic poetry and idyllic theme painting. The creation of idyllic poetry promoted painters to pay attention to the idyllic life described in the poem.At the same time, excellent idyllic theme painting also brought an unspeakable artistic conception to the poets. The Book of Songs · Bin Feng can be said to be the earliest pastoral poetry in China. The works describing the rural life of ancestors with this theme have been handed down in various dynasties, especially the works of the Song and Ming dynasties.Through the comparison of the rural image between the two,we can further understand the style, technique and connotation of the rural theme painting,so as to lay a foundation for the later creative practice.
