Huizhou has always been a place of talents.In the Ming and Qing dynasties,it was also a place of talents.There are many people in politics,education,business and other fields.The Hui people have left thick and colorful strokes in the history,and their figures can be seen from all kinds of books.As a book dedicated to recording local customs and characters,the local chronicles are of great importance to the sorting,searching and classification of regional characters.Different types of local chronicles are also different in selecting and writing characters.Generally speaking,the selection of local chronicles characters in higher administrative level areas is more strict and the selection of local chronicles characters in lower administrative level areas is more extensive.As a collection of numerous materials in Huizhou area,"Huizhou Chronicle" includes many different kinds of characters from the Qin and Han Dynasties,the lower and the present,and is constantly being supplemented.As a local chronicle,its characters have regional characteristics;As a local chronicle,its writing of characters is different from other types of local chronicles such as county chronicles and provincial chronicles.This thesis intends to sort out the edition and compilation of Huizhou Chronicle,and on this basis,study the three representative character categories and their writing behind them,with a view to seeing the style of the characters and exploring the true meaning of the editor behind the selection and writing of the characters.
