Sheng Keyi has an extremely acute perception of women’s emotional experiences, identity dilemmas, and spiritual fate in social life, which has also driven her to become a writer with a distinct gender consciousness.Facing the pain of gender directly is her unique way of dialogue with a harsh life. This article attempts to systematically explain the inner spirit and aesthetic value of her novel gender writing from a macro perspective. The thesis is composed of three chapters, along with introductory and concluding remarks.Firstly, this thesis will focus on the "pain" characteristics of women presented in Sheng Keyi’s novels. This characteristic is clearly reflected in his earlier and later works.Sheng can be obsessed with writing a body full of pain, and the scarred body image of a woman actually carries the author’s ethical scrutiny. This article will focus on the painful thought of the body in Sheng Keyi’s novels from the perspectives of body reproduction as a tool, consumption as a symbol, and props.Secondly, this pain is also reflected in the emotional world and life consciousness of women in Sheng Keyi’s novels. The core relationship of gender is gender relationship. When "love" without love becomes a game of desire, marriage becomes a battlefield for game competition, and women’s struggle against the nihility of love is doomed to be filled with blood and tears. Therefore,it is necessary to decompose the general concept of gender before interpreting a female writer with distinct gender awareness.Gender issues are the least visible, most pervasive, most delicate, and most energetic literary nerve.Clarifying its connotations at different levels will help to further explore the gender perspective of Sheng Keyi’s novels.Thirdly, this thesis will focus on the narrative form and language of Sheng Keyi’s novels and further analyze her aesthetic effects in conveying gender issues.Sheng Keyi has always emphasized presenting life with "knife like ferocity" : "This knife can go deep, open the surface, and present the inner truth." The academic community has also noted this feature. The above multiple papers have also mentioned the extreme writing style of Sheng Keyi’s novels,as well as the pain of life and gray humanity it demonstrates. This sharp and extreme narrative strategy is precisely a narrative weapon that can be used by Sheng to open up his inner anxiety and unyielding, revealing some of the extreme destinies of women. Finally,in the concluding remarks, this thesis will briefly analyze the essence of gender pain embodied in Sheng Keyi’s novels, such as the loss of spiritual destination, and the scarcity of kinship, equality, and dignity. The formation of any creative style implies the writer’s unique subjective thinking. Therefore, this thesis will further explore the subjective thinking reflected by this aesthetic pursuit of gender pain from the perspective of the creative subject, with a view to deepening the understanding of Sheng Keyi’s creation.
