French modernist writer Proust’s A la recherche du temps perdu, hidden or contains a lot of motivation to drive the writer to write selfless, devoted to writing. However,in the study of the creative motivation of this work, the perspective of the previous researchers is generally relatively simple, and the discussion and conclusion are relatively limited. Therefore, this paper attempts to apply a variety of modern psychological theories, combined with Proust’s biographical data, analyze the theme of A la recherche du temps perdu, investigate the psychological and behavioral characteristics of the author in creating this work, mainly from the perspective of the aesthetic needs of the creative subject, which can be roughly divided into two categories: lack of creative motivation and fullness of creative motivation. And from the following four aspects of the explanation, finally obtained the level of three-dimensional,reciprocal reflection of a variety of creative motivations.According to Freud’s psychoanalysis theory, because Proust was gay and suffering from illness, his Libido could not properly radiate to the outside world, resulting in the accumulation of ego Libido, which could only be sublimated in the way of writing to relieve the psychological tension or unhappiness caused by excessive Libido.Meanwhile,Proust’s Oedipus complex allows him to erase the existence of his brother Robert in the novel, avoid the fate of his mother’s death, and he also gives vent to his homosexual desire in the depiction of heterosexuality and homosexuality by disguises displacement. These are the unconscious motivations for his creation of A la recherche du temps perdu.According to Jung’s analytical psychology theory, the creation process of A la recherche du temps perdu is actually a kind of alien will guiding and promoting Proust’s creation, just like the living autonomy complex in pursuit of self-development and completion. In the novel, the stimulation brought by the taste of Madeleine’s snacks and the action of unbuttoning shoes in the seaside hotel bring back the image of her grandmother in the protagonist’s mind, which are involuntary memories.A la recherche du temps perdu, the novel consciously corrects some prejudices in the spirit of the times and treats the collective psychological trauma of people in modern society.According to Maslow’s humanistic psychological theory,Proust’s creation of A la recherche du temps perdu is the need and result of his pursuit of self-realization.Among them, the first successful writing attempt in the Mardanville Bell Tower and the frequent peak experience triggered by a series of involuntary recall fragments are the key factors that lead him to create spiritually. And the foundation of his personal growth step by step, that is,the pursuit and satisfaction of social intercourse, love, achievement and fame, and the choice of self-transcendence again and again, that is,the change of the past lazy habits, away from worldly pleasures, overcoming fear and doubt, living in isolation, fourteen years of painstaking writing,is the essential objective basis for his completion of the book.According to Proust’s artistic thought and Bergson’s philosophy,Proust’s creation of A la recherche du temps perdu is a process of returning to fantasy, which makes Proust realize the second creation of life and embark on the road of art.The purpose of Proust’s art is to restore the original impression of life,to eliminate the influence of factors such as intelligence that cuts and solidifies life, habits that obscure the charm of everyday things, and society full of practical consciousness, and to reflect on the continuous wholeness of past experiences and to experience the interpenetration of inner state moments. Finally, the multiple aspects of self expressed in life are reconstructed in the work.Proust spent the rest of his life trying his best to complete the novel A la recherche du temps perdu, which successfully expressed the themes of family affection, love, social contact, art and life, corrected the utilitarian prejudice pervading the whole society, and encouraged people to find their individuality and finally realize their personal value. To sum up,the study of this topic not only enables readers to have a new understanding of the value connotation of A la recherche du temps perdu, but also helps researchers to have a deep understanding of the psychological factors in the creation of individuals and the content of the work.
