Research On The Application Of Block Narrative Structure In Character Documentary

As a common and important narrative structure of documentaries,block-style narrative structure breaks the traditional barriers of time and space,provides a broader creative space for character documentaries,and is widely used in many excellent character documentaries.This paper takes the block-type narrative structure of character documentary as the main research object,combines relevant classic works and relevant literature materials,and analyzes the block-type narrative structure of character documentary in combination with the creation experience of personal graduation works.This paper starts from the application of the block narrative structure,takes the creation of the character documentary "Tomorrow at Sea" as the object,and discusses the combination of theory and practice.The thesis is mainly divided into six chapters.The introduction part mainly explains related concepts,summarizes and sorts out the research status of character documentary and documentary narrative structure,summarizes the main views,and puts forward the problems to be strengthened.The second chapter starts from the definition and four types of block-type narrative structure,expounds its narrative characteristics and application characteristics respectively,and sets the appropriate type of block based on the completed works.Chapter three,chapter four and chapter five are the focus of this paper,namely,the concrete application of block narrative structure in character documentary,mainly from the determination of the overall construction,element analysis,strengthening of post-editing three aspects,and the analysis of the relevant applications in the design.Chapter six summarizes the application of block-type narrative structure in character documentary,summarizes its application effect and value,finds its application limitations,and puts forward application strategies.Through the application of the block-style narrative structure,the graduation work "Tomorrow at Sea" finds that,different from the traditional linear narrative structure,the block-style narrative structure emphasizes the richness of content and the unique and meaningful visual presentation,which is more in line with the current audience’s aesthetic expectations for the dramatization of documentary narration.Its limitations are mainly reflected in the insufficient depth of the content theme and the aesthetic fatigue caused by the stacking of similar elements under the same theme.The above problems remind us to keep thinking and keep updating.
