Digital printmaking,as a new form of artistic expression in printmaking, has been subject to considerable debate since its inception.Despite certain traits of digital printmaking conflicting with traditional printmaking aesthetics,it does possess independent aesthetic value distinct from mechanical reproductions. In this sense, while digital printmaking may lack some of the aesthetic qualities associated with traditional "impressions," it still retains the replicability and indirectness of traditional printmaking, expanding its artistic beauty. Moreover, technology has profoundly impacted the art market, making the creation of digital art increasingly accessible.Technological advancements have revolutionized digital art, from machines aiding in the printing process to computer-based digital printmaking and the emergence of non-physical NFT art collections.Contemporary printmaking artists have embraced technology in their artistic pursuits. This article emphasizes how scientific and technological progress has brought about differences in the creation and existence of printmaking, and even the identity of artists. The combination of printmaking and science and technology remains a representative mode of thinking in contemporary digital art. While artistic styles evolve, the inherent limitations of printmaking attributes are universally applicable in the art field.Additionally, the awareness of "copyright," which governs the exclusive rights of usage for artworks, plays a significant motivating role in creativity, cultural heritage, and artistic development in modern society. In the current context, where technology replaces simple labor in art creation, the role of painters as image creators needs to be deconstructed.Contemporary artists must transition from creators of images to facilitators of image interpretation, avoiding competition with tools. The painting environment has shifted from a centralized and centralized model to a decentralized trend, and both the centralization and decentralization of painters and art institutions will bring different advantages to future art forms. |
