The Structure Of Nature | | Posted on:2024-07-15 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y W Zhang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307160496864 | Subject:Art | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Nature has always been an important object of expression in Western painting.From "imitating nature" to "legislating man-made nature",the renewal of human cognition of nature has brought profound changes in painting expression.Especially after landscape painting in the 18 th century became an independent theme from the background of narrative painting,the expression of nature became the best object for painters to solve the problem of painting ontology.Cezanne hoped to return to the harmonious relationship between man and "emerging and flowing" nature in the ancient Greek period,and establish a painting world parallel to the natural structure in painting.This paper discusses the relationship between painting and natural structure from four aspects by studying Cezanne’s "Mont Saint-Victor" series of works.The first chapter discusses the origin of the theme of Mont-Saint-Victor in Cezanne’s paintings.The Mont-Saint-Victor in Aix-en-Provence became one of the important themes of Cezanne’s paintings,showing his determination to complete nature.The second chapter discusses Cezanne’s reconstruction of nature in painting in the way of directly facing nature,discovering Poussin from the classical characteristics of the Mont-Saint-Victor region,absorbing the color and light analysis of Impressionist painting and the law of classical painting,capturing the reality without leaving the feeling,and establishing a constructive painting with a sense of soldness and permanence.The third chapter discusses the inspirations brought by Cezanne’s expression of the powerful impression brought to him by the unified whole nature in the series of Mont-Saint-Victor works in his late period,the game between feeling and reality in the change and eternity of nature,and the realization of feeling in nature through the expression of color in his late paintings,and the completion of paintings that resonate parallel to nature and have the characteristics of forming the realm.The fourth chapter tests my understanding of the unified nature spirit in the works of Mont-Saint-Victor through the inspiration of my artistic concept and creation of the series of works of Mont-Saint-Victor,the understanding of Cezanne’s artistic process and works,and the experience of sketching works created by Cezanne’s way of observing nature directly from the perspective of personal creation practice.Try to explore a suitable way of artistic creation. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Cezanne, Mont Saint-Victor, nature, painting, classical, feeling, structure, composition, colour | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
