| Ruan Fu(1801-1875),styled himself as“Ciqing”,“Xiaoyun”and“Xizhai”,was born in Yangzhou,Jiangsu.He was also the second son of Ruan Yuan(1764-1849),a well-known government official and scholar in the Qing Dynasty.Under the long-term care and cultivation of his father,Ruan Fu inherited the family’s tradition,and developed his own interest in epigraphy.In the 6th year of Daoguang Period(1826),Ruan Yuan became the General Governor of Yungui,thus Ruan Fu visited Yunnan together with him.Later,Ruan Fu wrote the Dian Nan Gu Jin Shi Lu(A brief record of ancient inscription relics of Yunnan).In this book,Fu did research on seven kinds of significant local inscription materials,and recorded them with precise words and hand painted illustrations.This book not only left us with beneficial textual information of the mentioned relics,but also impressed us with a vivid image of Ruan Yuan and Fu in the field of local inscription research.This dissertation focused on Dian Nan Gu Jin Shi Lu,and paid attention to observing cultural relics in three perspectives:objects,documents and images.In this way,this study intends to investigate the significance of Ruan Fu and his work.After finished a close reading of this book,the author tried to complete further research on the original text by comparing the content with the current first-hand information collected from the corresponding places in nowadays Yunnan.Then Chapter Two focused on Fu’s descriptions on the excavation,protection and promotion of the Cuan Longyan Stele(458),and discussed the influence and contribution made by Ruan Yuan and Ruan Fu.Based on the results above,this dissertation looked back on the academic background of Yunnan epigraphy,and tried to point out the significance of this book that might be neglected in the past.At last,the author analyzed the enlightenments of the book.And hopefully,this research could contribute the future of Yunnan local epigraphy study,even promotes practical applications of Cultural Heritage and Museology. |
