A Study Of The Pictorial Narrative Of Peasant Painting In Jingxi

Jingxi peasant painting is an important cultural resource in the Jingxi region,and the study of image narratives of Jingxi peasant painting is valuable for exploring the history,ethnic culture,and artistic concepts behind the images.There are not many theoretical studies on Jingxi peasant paintings,and there are no research results from the perspective of image narratives,and the narrative classification and cultural connotation of the image narratives are yet to be summarized.This paper is divided into five chapters.First of all,combining literature and field research,the main contents of the research on peasant painting in Jingxi are sorted out from three aspects: artistic characteristics,historical causes and development history;secondly,the basic connotation,development history,characteristics,types and applications of image narrative theory are analyzed;the essence,characteristics and basic types of image narrative are explored based on the image narrative theory of scholar Long Diyong.Furthermore,the main visual elements in the peasant paintings of Jingxi are classified and analyzed with representative cases,and their story contents in different narrative scenes are interpreted;the characteristic element symbols,cultural connotations and their narrative functions in different narrative scenes are explored.On this basis,the cultural and creative design is carried out.This paper explores the story content and the implied cultural and social values in the scenes of daily labor,festivals and revolution in Jingxi peasant paintings through the analysis of the visual elements of people,plants and animals,and architecture in Jingxi peasant paintings and their works.By interpreting the narratives in different story scenes of Jingxi peasant paintings,we explore the culture of Jingxi in the spatial storytelling and the ethnic history,beliefs and emotions of Jingxi.On this basis,we construct a genealogy of Jingxi peasant painting symbols;combine the "culture + tourism" model with the analysis,extraction,and reconstruction of design forms to refine Jingxi’s characteristic cultural symbols and typical elements,and create a series of cultural and creative designs with visual images of people as the core of the story and festival culture as the theme,in order to preserve and inherit Jingxi’s ethnic culture.The aim is to preserve and pass on the ethnic culture of Jingxi;to design creative design derivatives by combining the visual aesthetics of contemporary people and their "clothing,food,housing and transportation" living space context;and to provide a feasible path to promote the creative development of the excellent traditional culture of Jingxi peasant painting.
