| The musical has been around for over a century and is characterized by three major elements: music,dance,and drama,making it a modern form of comprehensive art for the stage.Musicals originated in Europe and spread to China through development and dissemination.Musicals in China began to emerge in the last century,and since then,some of the best original musical writers have explored innovative scripts and themes.From its inception,musicals have gradually gained popularity and have now established a significant presence in the commercial market.The author’s original musical,"Angel," is based on Greek mythology.Ancient Greece is one of the sources of Western civilization,and from ancient Greece to modern times,many artists,poets,painters,and musicians have drawn inspiration from its culture and given it contemporary meaning.Only through a subject with literary value can a playwright use music to fully present the characters,plot,and dramatic conflicts to the audience.The best musicals generally stem from word-of-mouth and people’s enjoyment,and are closely related to the commercial market.The present study provides an analysis of the original musical "Angel" in four parts.The first part provides a general introduction to the background of the show’s creation and a brief synopsis of the story.By elaborating on the story background and plot outline,it facilitates the audience’s understanding of the music in the show.The second part takes a musical perspective and discusses and analyzes the different musical themes and motivations of the five different characters in the play,including interval,rhythm,tempo,and tonality.The third part focuses on the main choruses and episode music of the musical,analyzing their structure and composition techniques.The fourth part provides a reasonable analysis of the orchestration of the background music and important songs for the main characters in the musical "Angel."The music in the show is based on the script and considered and used from all aspects,utilizing a holistic approach to composition in order to advance the plot,present the characters,and integrate the music,characters,and plot effectively. |
