The Appechonie Sonata in A minor, composed by Schubert in 1824 for the instrument Appechonie,is also a very classic work for strings by Schubert.Due to the short historical existence of the instrument Apechoni, this work was more often played by the cello, which has a very similar range and tone to Apechoni, instead, and now the work is also available in versions for other instruments such as viola, double bass and flute, which are very popular.Schubert lived at a time when the Classical and Romantic periods of the 19 th century alternated, and in this work one can feel both the rigour and discipline of the Classical period and the freedom of expression of the Romantic style. At the same time, this work was written for Apergione and is performed on the cello, which requires a high degree of technical skill in order to change grips and a high range.Nowadays it is included in the optional repertoire of international cello competitions and is one of the heavyweights of the cello repertoire. The composer’s work is influenced by the context of the time and his life experiences. When performing the work, the performer must have a certain understanding of the composer’s life and musical style in order to accurately grasp the musical emotion and make the musical expression closer to the composer’s intention, and at the same time constantly improve his performance technique so that it can better serve the musical expression. This article examines four aspects of the work: the creative background of the work, the past and present life of Apergione, the musical style of Schubert’s work, and Analyzing Performance Techniques Based on Music Style,in the hope that it will be useful and provide reference for cello performance enthusiasts.
