| The opera "Love of Songmaoling" takes inspiration from the Songmaoling Battle that occurred in Changting County,Fujian in 1934.Based on a true story,the opera focuses on the character Lai Amei,who waits for her husband to return from serving in the army for thirty years.The premiere of the opera took place on November 21,2017 at the Hakka Theater in Changting County and received widespread attention and praise,playing an important role in promoting the development and inheritance of Chinese culture and art.One of the most representative artistic highlights of this opera is the important aria sung by the female lead character,"Ah Gen,Where Are You," which was included in the Chinese classic opera collection by the Ministry of Culture.This article focuses on the analysis of the artistic characteristics and performance of the aria "Ah Gen,Where Are You," sung by Lai Amei in the opera "Love of Songmaoling".It is divided into three sections,with the first section exploring the background of the opera and the main aria sung by Lai Amei.The second section analyzes the artistic features of the aria from three aspects: the character image of Lai Amei,the structural and accompanying texture of the aria,and the third section analyzes the singing and stage performance of the aria.The author also shares their own understanding and insights about the opera.Through the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical analysis,the article aims to provide valuable information for vocal learners and researchers. |
