| The development of children’s speech ability has always been the focus of research.The level of language development affects the development of young children’s thinking.In addition,the cognitive ability of young children is also affected by the level of language development.In the process of children’s socialization,language plays an accelerated role.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out relevant research on children’s language ability.In China,most of the research on children’s language ability uses foreign scales.There are few domestic scales and these scales have been compiled for a long time,so it is difficult to adapt to the current level of domestic social development.At present,there is an urgent need for localized children’s language ability measurement tools in China.Therefore,this study intends to develop a language ability assessment tool suitable for children aged 3 to 6 in my country.“Outline of National Medium and Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020)”emphasizes the importance of educational quality,and improving the quality of preschool education has also become the consensus of many educational policies and documents.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out large-scale assessments to obtain information on early childhood development.However,using traditional methods to evaluate children’s language ability on a large scale requires extremely high costs and is difficult to operate.If the evaluation tools are combined with scientific and technological means,the shortage of manual evaluation can be made up,and the specific situation of children’s language development can be understood on a large scale.Therefore,this study aims to design an intelligent assessment product for children’s language ability that is easy to operate and can be used on a large scale.Based on this,this study consists of three parts.First,study 1 is based on the“Guidelines for Children’s Learning and Development of 3-6 Years Old”,combined with domestic and foreign research on young children’s language ability,and aims to develop a language ability assessment tool for 3-6 year old children in my country.Secondly,the study 2 used the self-edited “3-6-year-old children’s language ability assessment tool” to test the children in two kindergartens in a certain area of Fuzhou,in order to explore the current situation of children’s language ability.Finally,study 3 uses observation and interview methods to investigate children and their parent in order to design a simply intelligent assessment product for children’s language ability,which is based on the self-edited assessment tool in study 1,combined with study 2.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The self-edited “Verbal Ability Assessment Tool for Children Aged 3-6” includes three dimensions: verbal accuracy,verbal richness,and verbal fluency.After item analysis and reliability and validity tests,all items meet the psychometric criteria.It is a reliable and valid measurement tool for evaluating the language ability of children aged 3-6 years.(2)Young children scored poorly on the dimensions of verbal accuracy and verbal richness.There were no significant gender differences in the total score and each dimension of children’s verbal ability.There are significant differences in the total score and each dimension of children’s language ability in different age groups,and the language ability gradually improves with the growth of grades.(3)The children’s language ability assessment product designed in this study can test children’s language ability in the form of games,which can evaluate the test results,provide reasonable suggestions for parents,and meet the needs of large-scale assessment. |
