| Fujian drama has experienced a long period of development.After entering modern times,its educational function has been continuously strengthened and gradually became an important form of propaganda and mobilization.The outbreak of the "September 18Incident" prompted some parts of Fujian to produce a number of troupes of Anti-Japanese War drama.Although the scale and number were relatively limited,they laid a foundation for the comprehensive development of the Anti-Japanese War drama movement in Fujian after the outbreak of the comprehensive Anti-Japanese War.After the start of the comprehensive War of Resistance against Japan,the severe Anti Japanese war situation and the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party provided a favorable political environment for the development of the Anti Japanese war drama movement.In accordance with the central literary and artistic policy,the party headquarters of the Kuomintang in Fujian Province paid more attention to drama publicity,and effectively supported the development of Fujian Anti Japanese war drama movement by establishing Anti Japanese war drama publicity groups,establishing drama periodicals and holding drama activities.With the efforts of various groups,anti Japanese War dramas were spread to all parts of Fujian,and colorful Anti Japanese War dramas were performed to fully mobilize the people’s Anti Japanese war enthusiasm.However,this theatrical boom did not last,and the theater companies and theater periodicals created in Fujian at the beginning of the war were disbanded,suspended,and replaced by new ones after 1941,due to the events in South Anhui and the adjustment of Kuomintang policies.In order to strengthen the rule of the Kuomintang,the censorship and management of theater groups and scripts became stricter,and this situation also seriously affected the effectiveness of anti-war theater propaganda.Although the number of anti-war theater propaganda groups was greater than at the beginning of the war,and theater performances were being carried out normally,the theater groups were less active and less effective in mobilizing theater than before.The anti-war theater movement in Fujian eventually died out under the cultural oppression of the Kuomintang intransigence and the renewed invasion of the Japanese.In the development of Fujian’s anti-war theater movement,the following characteristics were mainly presented: In terms of geographical development,the positions of the anti-war theater movement in Fujian experienced several relocations,which contributed to the flourishing of anti-war theater everywhere in Fujian;In terms of dramatic expression,drama,which emerged after the modern era,played a major role in the anti-war drama movement in Fujian;Although the Kuomintang was the main power in the leadership of the theater movement,the Communist Party also participated in some important theater propaganda groups by arranging underground parties to play a role in the anti-war theater movement.The Fujian anti-war drama movement,which sprang up in1931 and ended with the victory of the war,made great contributions in propaganda and mobilization,inspiring the people and collecting donations.It was not only one of the most prominent teams of the anti-war literary and rescue movement in Fujian,but also the golden stage of drama development in the history of modern drama in Fujian. |
