China(porcelain)originates in China,and it is the wisdom crystallization of ancient working people.The word “china”(porcelain)is the same as “China”(the country).As early as the Song and Yuan Dynasties,Dehua china sold well overseas through the ancient Maritime Silk Road.Dehua china has long been well-known for its high-quality white china and exquisite china-making crafts.Dehua in Fujian Province,as an important ceramic producing area in ancient China,has experienced vicissitudes for centuries.It is constantly making efforts and attempts to seek transformation in the contemporary era.In recent years,exploring ways to integrate traditional crafts with modern social life has become an important guarantee for the innovative development and creative transformation of outstanding Chinese crafts.China has vigorously promoted the integration of intangible cultural heritage with modern economy and technology,which has also significantly enhanced the public’s willingness to accept traditional crafts.Based on the perspective of visual communication and the communication characteristics of visual language,this study attempts to help Dehua white china achieve the innovation of design language and the promotion of visual narrative on the basis of traditional visual content in the new media era.Meanwhile,it aims to achieve the humanized and effective transmission of visual communication,thus uncovering the deeper charm of Dehua white china.Firstly,Dehua white china is put in the context of visual communication,and the research findings and theories obtained are sorted out,so as to analyze the ways and present situation of the visual communication of Dehua white china in a more focused manner.Secondly,the specific application of Dehua white china’s visual narrative in the digital reproduction of history and culture,visual elements,narrative content expression,etc.,are explored.Audience analysis is conducted using questionnaires and in-depth interviews.Moreover,combined with the experience of other ceramic production areas,it is concluded that there are some problems in Dehua’s existing communication methods,such as lack of communication between subjects,insufficient innovation of visual content,inadequate application of communication channels,and low differentiation of audience groups.This provides support for the construction of specific visual communication strategies in this paper.Finally,based on the above analysis and the directions obtained from the research,this paper proposes realistic visual communication strategies for Dehua white china from four dimensions: communication subject,visual information design,innovative application of contemporary communication channels and audience training,under the guidance of “5W” communication mode.This is the practical application and thinking for the development of Dehua white china in the new era.In addition,it also puts forward new ideas for the visual communication of Dehua white china,and provides an outlook on the development trend of the visual communication of traditional handicraft culture.
