The Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes murals are a splendid treasure in the history of Chinese painting.During the Tang Dynasty,due to the country’s strong strength and vigorous economic and cultural development,the content of Dunhuang murals was very rich.At present,the number of known Tang Dynasty caves has reached more than250,of which more than half contain landscape elements.The ideas transmitted by Buddhism are present throughout the mural,developing in tandem with the overall style.At the same time,there is a close connection between the landscape language in Dunhuang murals and the landscape painting in the Central Plains and has a profound influence.Therefore,This study focuses on the landscape components found in the Sheng Tang murals within the Mogao Grottoes.It systematically examines and analyzes the historical and cultural context,artistic styles,and forms of expression pertaining to landscape motifs present in the Dunhuang murals during the High Tang Dynasty.,explores its application and development in contemporary painting,and injects new elements into his works.This paper comprises five chapters.The initial chapter serves as an introduction,outlining the research objectives,significance,current research status,and methodologies employed in this study.The second chapter delves into an examination of the characteristics of the landscape language of the Dunhuang murals of the Shengtang Dynasty from the aspects of its development process,social and cultural background,artistic style,and cultural connotation.In the third chapter,we analyze the portrayal of various forms of landscape language in contemporary painting by investigating the distinctive features of the landscape language found in the Shengtang Dunhuang murals.Chapter 4: As the creator of painting practice,the author applies the enlightenment and thinking brought by the landscape language of the Shengtang Dunhuang mural to creation and practice. |
