Analysis Of The Character Image And Aria Of Li Yunfang In The National Comic Opera "Ma Xiangyang Goes To The Countryside

Ma Xiangyang’s Journey to the Countryside "is the first national comedy opera since the new century.It was directed by Huang Dingshan,written by Dai Lu and Lian Haiping,composed by Zang Yunfei,and arranged by Ren An.It was produced by Qingdao Performing Arts Group.The opera is based on the theme of targeted poverty alleviation,and tells the touching story of Ma Xiangyang,an assistant researcher at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences,who went to the countryside as the "First Secretary" and ultimately changed the poverty and backwardness of his hometown.He leads the villagers of Da Huaishu to lift themselves out of poverty and become rich.As an excellent ethnic opera work,it has strong regional characteristics in Shandong and presents a type of ethnic opera that is popular among the public.As the female protagonist of the opera,village cadre Li Yunfang’s series of actions have driven the development of the opera and have a strong theatrical appeal.The paper is mainly divided into three parts.The first part mainly outlines the creative background,plot,and musical style of the opera "Ma Xiangyang Goes to the Countryside";The second part provides a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the character image and shaping of the female protagonist Li Yunfang;The third part starts from the two aspects of music essence and singing,and conducts a series of analysis on the three main arias of the female protagonist Li Yunfang in the play: "You are my lucky star shining high","A locust tree is a hundred years old",and "To be a person,one must compare one’s heart to another".I hope that through the writing of my paper,I can better understand and interpret Chinese ethnic opera,enhance my understanding of the music and culture of my own ethnic group,and contribute my humble efforts to the research and vocal performance of Chinese ethnic opera in the future.
