A Study On Lu Xun's "Self-narration" In The True Story Of Ah

The study of The True Story of Ah Q has a history of nearly one hundred years.From the perspective of Lu Xun,the author of the novel,we can ask the following questions:How did Lu Xun view Ah Q,and is there any discrepancy between his interpretation and explanation based on the content of the text? Why did Lu Xun create such an image of Ah Q? What did Lu Xun really want to express through The True Story of Ah Q? These are some interesting questions.The existing studies have mainly interpreted Ah Q from the textual level.Researchers cite Lu Xun’s own views in the text,and they often read Lu Xun’s opinions in an illuminating context of textual comparison.However,there are no papers that examine Lu Xun’s own "self-reporting" as an independent content.And there is also a noteworthy tendency: the existing papers focus on the citation and interpretation of Lu Xun’s opinions,and less on their discernment,which can be said to be cited in the text as arguments for the researcher’s personal views.This paper,however,takes Lu Xun’s "self-report" as the object of study and identifies the original meaning of Lu Xun’s "self-report".Secondly,we use Lu Xun’s "self-report" as a research perspective,and from these sources themselves,we reinterpret The True Story of Ah Q in the context of the text of The True Story of Ah Q to get as close as possible to Lu Xun’s intention of creating this novel.This paper is divided into the following four parts: Chapter 1,which analyzes Lu Xun’s characterization of Ah Q’s image and clarifies Lu Xun’s attitude toward Ah Q’s maintenance.Lu Xun’s attitude toward Ah Q is the key to our understanding of The True Story of Ah Q.This chapter,by organizing the content of Lu Xun’s self-report on the"image of Ah Q," constructs the image of Ah Q in Lu Xun’s eyes from four aspects: Ah Q’s age,appearance,class identity,and character,and at the same time discusses and debates the key issues of the characterization of Ah Q with the research community,generating a dialogue in an attempt to clarify Lu Xun’s defense of Ah Q and,to a certain extent,to correct some of the researchers’ views on Ah Q.It is also an attempt to clarify Lu Xun’s defense of Ah Q and,to a certain extent,to correct the misinterpretation of Ah Q’s image by some researchers.In the second chapter,the Xinhai Revolution serves both as the backdrop for the unfolding of The True Story of Ah Q and as the internal structure of Ah Q’s tragic fate.Does Ah Q want to be a "revolutionary party"?
