With the development and changes of cities and the rapid development of social economy,social forms are also constantly changing.The relationship between people and cities has undergone different changes from before.Artists living in cities have captured these phenomena and explored the appearance and memory of cities through artistic creation,exploring the relationship between people and society in urban scenes from another perspective,and analyzing some social phenomena and problems.This article summarizes the development status of urban theme painting both domestically and internationally from a timeline perspective.By studying the development and evolution of urban theme oil painting both domestically and internationally,we can experience the development context of urban theme oil painting from another space.At the same time,the work explores the personal emotions and artistic expressions of different artists towards the city,delves into the cultural history,regional symbols,and spiritual connotations contained in urban works,interprets the artist’s understanding of urban scenes,explains the creative experience,and finally,through a large amount of comparative research and practical exploration,extracts the visual expression and emotional power that suits the author.The author has created a series of oil paintings based on urban scenes,such as "Step","Generation",and "Blueprint for Construction under the High Sunshine",through learning from representative artist works and practical accumulation.By analyzing the work itself and the creative process,constantly focusing on creative ideas,strengthening emotional expression and artistic expression with people,the author has deepened their understanding of urban scene themes.Reflecting on the problems discovered throughout the entire creative process,continuously adjusting and improving creative techniques,ultimately determining the creative theme and direction,and firmly adhering to one’s own artistic path.
