A Study On The Modern Chinese Literature And Culture

Modern Chinese Literature and Culture(MCLC),as a pure academic journal devoted to the study of modern and contemporary literature and culture in China(including Chinese literature and culture in Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan and overseas),represents the latest research level in the field of overseas China studies,and many famous scholars at home and abroad have published academic achievements in this journal.The periodical pays attention to literature,movies and television,popular culture,performance and visual culture,printing and material culture in China from the late Qing Dynasty to the present.The MCLC Resource Center,which coexists with this journal,is rich in research materials of this subject.By using the methods of text analysis,case study and data statistics,this paper focuses on the study of China literature and China films,and analyzes the contribution and limitations of the journal,so as to deeply explore the overseas dissemination and research of China’s modern and contemporary literature and culture.The full text consists of four chapters,except for the introduction and conclusion.First of all,the introduction introduces the basis and significance of this topic,the research status at home and abroad,and the research on method and innovation.The first chapter mainly introduces the historical evolution of the journal Modern Literature and Culture in China,makes an overall statistics and explanation of its publishing situation,and combs the writers,works and overseas scholars involved in the journal,on this basis,analyzes the overall publishing characteristics and trends of the journal.The second chapter focuses on the specific research articles about China’s modern and contemporary literature in MCLC,and analyzes the research feature of poetry,drama and novel from three research trends: similarity,interlacing and interactivity.The third chapter explores the research on China’s films in MCLC,from three aspects: the trial of removing regional color and world consciousness,the critical dimension of postcolonialism,and the observation of local and marginal people.The fourth chapter,based on the above research,mainly discusses the contribution and limitations of MCLC.Through the study of literature and movies in the journal,this paper explores the overseas research situation of China’s modern literature and culture from academic journals,with a view to promoting the further development of the study of modern and contemporary literature in overseas China.
