As a female director with a considerable personal style in China,Li Yu’s film works have unique themes,and what’s even more rare is that they often contain exploration of social reality.This paper focuses on the seven film works of Li Yu,including "Fish and Elephant"(2001),"Dam Street"(2005),"Lost in Beijing"(2007),"Buddha Mountain"(2011),"Double Xposure"(2012),"Ever Since We Love"(2015),and "The Fallen Bridge"(2022).From the cultural perspective of trauma theory,it focuses on the inherent and interconnected trauma narrative concepts in her works.The first chapter defines the basic concepts and theoretical explanations of the research paradigm of this paper,starting from the origin and connotation of trauma,and introduces trauma narrative as a basic means of trauma treatment,building an internal bridge between trauma narrative and film art;The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the narrative construction of trauma in Li Yu’s films,discussing from three aspects: the construction of the trauma subject,the repetition of the trauma process,and the truth behind the trauma presented in the films,to explore the ways in which trauma exists in Li Yu’s films;The third chapter focuses on the trauma image style of Li Yu’s films,reading from three aspects: her documentary creation concept,emotional shots of breathing sensation,and poetic trauma landscape construction.Through his cold and sorrowful image characteristics,savoring the image representation form of trauma narrative;The forth chapter revolves around the expression of trauma healing in Li Yu’s films,delving into his seven trauma narrative films and exploring the possibility of trauma healing.“Healing”is the repair of trauma and the fundamental function of trauma narrative.From this perspective,complete the writing of the final chapter of the entire paper.This paper explores the trauma narrative expression of Li Yu’s films from the perspective of trauma theory,and summarizes the trauma image speech methods of Li Yu’s films by using literature research and text analysis,combined with psychoanalysis related theories,so as to enrich the value of trauma theory in film art. |
