| With the rapid changes and economic development of modern industrial society,it has become increasingly difficult for people to find a sense of self-identity and value. In recent years, especially in the post-epidemic era, tarot cards have become increasingly popular among communities, mainly among young people. As people’s need for spiritual solace has become more profound, the ability of mysticism to heal the mind and body has come to be valued.Artists also turned to the occult for inspiration when the emotional fog of the times had not yet lifted.Likewise,as aesthetic perceptions became more diverse and individual, the modernisation and revival of the Tarot, rich in Western esotericism, became a necessity.A number of works combining the Tarot with art emerged, generating new wellsprings that helped mankind to understand a deeper spiritual model of life.Tarot graphics have unique expressions and rich symbolic meanings, and while the cards themselves have been studied extensively throughout history, very few cases and articles have focused on and studied the application of Tarot graphics in the field of modern and contemporary art.The author attempts to discuss the manifestation of Tarot graphics from various aspects such as the relationship between psychology and semiotics, occultism and philosophy,to explore the referential function and symbolic role of Tarot graphics, and to study the story-building path between Tarot and art creation.Through research methods such as documentary research, image analysis, case study and interdisciplinary research, this paper attempts to provide a detailed discussion of the application of tarot graphics in contemporary art and its healing functions.Starting from the history of the origins of Tarot cards and the meaning of the deck, the author sorts out the social influence and sociological significance of Tarot cards, analyses the mystical and dualistic characteristics of Tarot cards, and explores the presentation of Tarot graphics in modern contemporary art based on specific artistic cases. At the same time, after an in-depth study and a multi-perspective observation, the author believes that in today’s artistic environment, the combination of the occult and art in Tarot graphics has a healing meaning and a variety of artistic expression possibilities. |
