Fanny C(?)cilie Mendelssohn(1805-1847),was one of the most famous and prolific female composers of the 19 th century.From an early age,she studied composition with her brother Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy1809-1847,piano.This paper takes Fanny Mendelssohn’s Six Melodies Op.4&Op.5 as an entry point to study in depth the musical style and characteristics of Fanny Mendelssohn’s Six Melodies Op.4&Op.5from the aspects of structure,theme and weaving,extracting the unique artistic values and thus focusing on the analysis of the performance and teaching parts.This paper is divided into three chapters: Chapter 1 provides an overview of Fanny Mendelssohn’s life and works;Chapter 2analyzes the performance of Six Melodies Op.4&Op.5 in the context of the author’s learning experience;and Chapter 3 analyzes the teaching of Six Melodies Op.4&Op.5 in the context of its musical characteristics.
