| Fang Xiaoru was a famous politician, thinker, and writer in the early Ming Dynasty. After learning from Song Lian,he became a new scholar leader in the literary world. He was praised as the "seed of reading",and was also famous for being killed by ten ethnic groups and sacrificing for benevolence and justice because of the "battle of pacification".Scholars in previous dynasties seldom studied poetry in the Ming Dynasty.Even if they studied poetry, most scholars also focused on poetry in the middle and late Ming Dynasty, and paid little attention to poetry in the early Ming Dynasty. In addition, the influence of Confucian culture on the Chinese nation is deeply rooted and plays an important role in guiding contemporary society.Fang Xiaoru,as a great scholar in the early Ming Dynasty, the ideological content, artistic characteristics and the Confucian spirit embodied in his poems are the enrichment and supplement of his poet image. As far as Fang Xiaoru is concerned, the academic circle pays more attention to his identity as a politician, and focuses on the research of his life, thoughts, and political and historical articles. However, the research on Fang Xiaoru’s poetry is rarely overall and systematic. Therefore, this paper focuses on Fang Xiaoru’s poetry, which is the core of comprehensive and specific research. The full text is composed of introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction part first clarifies the research significance and innovation points of this article, then analyzes the research methods and innovation points used in this article, and finally combs the research status related to this article. The text is divided into five chapters. The first chapter discusses Fang Xiaoru’s life experience. On the basis of previous studies, combined with chronicles and historical materials, the author summarized his life into four stages. These four stages of life experience and life mentality have an important impact on his poetry. The second chapter summarizes the subject matter of Fang Xiaoru’s poems. There are408 poems written by Fang Xiaoru, which are mainly of four types. The first category is the hymn poem, which expresses the enthusiastic praise of the emperor’s political achievements, shows the grandeur of the early Ming Dynasty, and places the poet’s thoughts of loyalty and patriotism. The second category is farewell poems, which express the poet’s feelings of parting ways with his friends. In addition, some poems convey deep blessings through singing and communication, showing Fang Xiaoru’s political ambitions and deserving the attention of readers. The third category is nostalgic epic poems,in which poets contrast ancient and modern, criticizing historical events through historical relics to achieve the effect of borrowing ancient irony and modernity. There is also a part of the poem that alludes to the darkness of reality by reminiscing about the ancestors. The fourth category is lyric poetry that sings about things,a type of poetry that deeply conveys Fang Xiaoru’s literati aspirations. It not only thinks about the life of the universe from a broad perspective, but also chants daily life with a humorous and optimistic attitude from a narrow perspective, and shows the quality of purity and expresses the leisure and comfort of life from a narrow perspective. The third chapter analyzes the spiritual quality of Fang Xiaoru’s poems.Based on the content of Fang Xiaoru’s poetry,we will further analyze the great poet image of Fang Xiaoru.Fang Xiaoru adhered to the independent and unyielding character characteristics of the literati and became a model of "integrity" of the Ming Dynasty.Fang Xiaoru was concerned about the country and the people, and often expressed his pity and sympathy for the people in his poems, which can show his benevolence and righteousness. In addition,Fang Xiaoru demonstrated his persistent pursuit of moral belief with the martyrdom of ten clans, and his attitude of facing death in the face of power was just a manifestation of his detached personality. The fourth chapter explores the artistic technique and style of Fang Xiaoru’s poetry.Fang Xiaoru likes to vigorously create poems in the form of group poems, which can enhance the sense of power of poems and facilitate the poet’s emotional expression. This is also an important factor for his poetry to form a bold and expansive style of artistic conception.Fang Xiaoru is good at using a lot of rhetoric in his poems, and the use of rhetoric makes his poems vivid, ingenious and flexible. In his poems,Fang Xiaoru tends to use the technique of narration to show the contents of poems and make comments at the same time, which reflects his poetic style of clear reasoning and eloquence and profound meaning, which is also a manifestation of his status as a major Neo-Confucianism in the early Ming Dynasty. In addition, some of Fang Xiaoru’s scene-painting poems are plain and natural. Most of these works show the harmony and unity of natural beauty and humanistic beauty, which are poets’ songs for freedom. The use of Fang Xiaoru’s artistic techniques and the presentation of his artistic style more perfectly show the charm of his poems. The fifth chapter analyzes the inheritance and value of Fang Xiaoru’s poetics.Fang Xiaoru was influenced by the regional culture, and Song Lian was the representative of the East Zhejiang School,so Fang Xiaoru’s poetry creation thought must be influenced by the East Zhejiang School headed by Song Lian. The East Zhejiang School pays attention to the propaganda and education function of poetry and advocates the pragmatic spirit.Poetry should assume the function of chronicle and reality. At the same time,it also advocates adhering to the spirit of "elegance",advocating retro and pursuing the simplicity of poetry. These poetic theories are reflected in Fang Xiaoru’s poems.Fang Xiaoru’s poetics theory was also innovative in the succession. He held the contrary idea to Song Lian and other literati of the East Zhejiang school, and put forward the idea of "longing for Song poetry and advocating rationality" in contrast to the predecessors’ admiration for the romantic and grand Tang poetry, emphasizing the rational beauty of Song poetry. In addition, the idea that "poetry pays attention to a moment of insight" also has a certain inspiration for his poetry creation.Fang Xiaoru’s poetic theory is of great value. It reversed the deformed poetics view of the early Ming Dynasty and changed the floating style of poetry. At the same time, the theory of poetry with "Tao" as the core had an important influence on the later "cabinet style".The epilogue summarizes the research results.First of all,Fang Xiaoru’s turbulent life can be summarized into four stages, each stage has a profound impact on Fang Xiaoru’s poetry creation.Secondly, through sorting out and summarizing the contents of poems,it can be found that Fang Xiaoru has different emotions in different types of poems, but they are full of sincere feelings.Through the analysis of the spiritual quality in the poems,it can be found that Fang Xiaoru has the independent character of a scholar, the benevolence and justice character of helping the people, and the detached personality of forgetting life and death.Thirdly, through analyzing the artistic techniques and styles of Fang Xiaoru’s poems,it can be found that Fang Xiaoru’s poems use various techniques to achieve a unique style. Finally, through studying the inheritance and value of Fang Xiaoru’s poetic theory,we can find that Fang Xiaoru’s poetry is deeply influenced by the East Zhejiang school, especially Song Lian, and has its own theoretical innovation.Fang Xiaoru’s theory of poetry had a profound influence on the poetry world at that time and later. |
