In the context of globalization,countries around the world are becoming more and more connected,and English has always been valued as a universal language.The Ministry of Education revised English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education in 2022 which puts forward detailed requirements for students’ phonetic knowledge.However,due to the pursuit of students’ further education,the phonetic teaching of English has not been emphasized by teachers.At the same time,some English teachers have low pronunciation quality and weak phonetic awareness,which will greatly affect students’ pronunciation learning,and even make students get wrong pronunciation habits.In language learning,pronunciation is crucial,reflecting the level of a person’s language ability and affecting people’s judgment of one’s English ability.This paper aims to arouse the attention of English teachers to English pronunciation and enhance their awareness of improving English pronunciation.Help them improve professional accomplishment and the quality of English classroom teaching.Taking Chongqing X Middle School as the research object,this paper combines the theory of error analysis to explore the common phonetic problems of English teachers in junior high school.Based on the current situation of education,the reasons for these pronunciation problems are analyzed in depth,and finally relevant countermeasures and suggestions to solve the pronunciation problems are proposed.According to the current situation of junior high school English teachers,seven phonetic problems worthy of attention and improvement are proposed,such as word pronunciation,stress of multisyllable words,voiced consonants,pronunciation problems in word formation,weak form and assimilation,liaison and explosion.The reasons for these problems are analyzed deeply,such as the impact of phonetic interlingual migration,teachers’ own factors and English teaching environment.Finally,strategies and suggestions on how to improve the above problems are proposed,for example,enhancing teachers’ awareness of error analysis,strengthening pronunciation training,overcoming the negative migration impact of native languages,and improving language learning strategies and so on.
