A Study About The "Chanmen Guishi" Of Baizhang Huaihai

"Chanmen guishi" created by the great Wisdom Zen master Baizhang Huaihai is the origin of Zen rules and forms.Since then,Baizhang Qinggui has become popular in Buddhist temples.As the earliest model of regulating the daily practice and life of Zen monks in Chinese Zen temples,it created a new pattern of temple operation and monk group management.Since then,Southern Zen especially Hong Zhou system began to flourish,in the late Tang and Five Dynasties.Will fully collect relevant historical materials,this paper,absorption profession of existing research results on Baizhang huaihai and created " Chanmen guishi " carries on the detailed investigation and argumentation,reveals the creating background and thought origin,analysis its unique temple system design,organization and management principles and monasteries lifestyle,probe into its in the sustainable development of zen Buddhism played a significant role in the process,in order to highlight the historical significance and modern value of Baizhang Huaihai’s " Chanmen guishi ".This paper has six chapters.Chapter one is the introduction,which is composed of three sections: research causes,research status,research ideas and research methods.The second chapter is to sort out the historical data of Huaihai’s life and " Chanmen guishi ",clarify the year of Huaihai’s birth,the title of Huaihai’s rules,combs the historical materials of the buddhist monk history,deng record and later qing dynasty rules,laying a foundation for the research of the following chapters.The third chapter is the background and ideological origin of the creation of " Chanmen guishi ",starting from the political,economic and social conditions at that time,combined with the development history of Zen,to investigate the special social,historical and cultural background in which Huaihai created " Chanmen guishi ".The fourth chapter is the "practice of making a model" of " Chanmen guishi ",studying the text word by word,examining the programmatic system design and management ideas contained in the text,trying to restore the real zen life of the zen monk group at that time.The fifth chapter is the spiritual purview of " Chanmen guishi ",which is divided into three parts: inner freedom,economic self-sufficiency and behavioral self-discipline."Chanmen guishi " ensures the development of freedom in a regular way.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,briefly narrates the development of monastic rules and regulations in later generations,and emphasizes the importance of programmatic system and spiritual purport contained in " Chanmen guishi ".
