For human-beings,motion is not only the earliest, but also the most substantial experience.Language types affect the expression of motion events.Motion event sentence is a key element in the teaching section of Foreign Chinese.Based on the theory of lexical types of motion events, here, this thesis investigated the learning experience of Chinese motion event sentence in 30 Laos students by using methods including experimental investigation, data analysis and comparative analysis.Firstly,to collect data,we induced the Laos students to make sentences of Chinese Motion event via using the wordless comic book Frog, where are you ?Then,we compared the differences in word use and structure of the collected Chinese motion event sentence between Laos students and Chinese native speakers to analyze the wrong sentences. Our results showed that for Laos students, there are many issues about using modal verbs. The error rate is high in using directional phrases and directional verbs. For students at the middle and advanced class, they often make mixed errors.Overall,we suggest that: At the primary stage, professors can teach the foreign students in the order of location words, location phrases and directional verbs. At the middle and advanced stages, teachers should integrate motion events into other teaching activities such as grammar points to improve students’ pragmatic competence.
