In recent years,there have been new adaptations of folk songs with new era characteristics based on the traditional folk song tunes known to the public,with significant changes in song layout,song structure and tonality,and the characters of the songs are more fleshed out.and the storyline is more complete after the adaptation.Among them,Tingjiang Hu has contributed many masterpieces with beautiful melodic lines and distinctive musical images,which are at the same time innovative and contemporary.His adaptations of the folk songs "Dance of the Youth" and " Variations on Maila" are loved by the public and vocal learners.This paper will take these two songs as the object of study,hoping that through a more in-depth study,the author will have a better understanding of folk song adaptations and their ethnic styles,and provide theoretical support for his own singing.At the same time,by comparing the versions sung by different singers and combining the author’s personal singing practice,the stylistic characteristics of such works are explored,and the artistic image and emotional expression of the songs are accurately grasped.The body of the paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the background origin of folk song adaptations and provides an overview of Tingjiang Hu and his folk song adaptations.Chapter 2 presents a musical analysis of the original folk song "Dance of the Youth" and Tingjiang Hu’s adaptation of "Dance of the Youth" to summarize the heritage and innovation of folk song adaptations to the original folk songs.Chapter 3 analyzes the original folk song "Maila" and the folk song adaptation "Variations on Maila" and compares the folk song adaptation with the original folk song’s heritage and innovation.Chapter 4 is a comparative study of the two songs "Dance of the Youth" and "Variations on Maila" sung by different singers in different versions.The fifth chapter is the author from the analysis of the singing version of the inspiration,and from the personal singing practice,analyze how to use the advantages of the singer’s singing version.
