Left-behind children refer to the situation that one or both parents need to work outside and cannot stay with the children for a long time, and the children are raised by grandparents or other relatives in the family,so children in the family will face more risk factors.A large number of studies have shown that after entering the school environment, the positive establishment of teacher-student relationship can help children adapt and explore the learning content and living environment.Children’s self-regulation is defined by researchers as the control of their own thoughts, feelings and behaviors, which is positioned as a basic ability and has a wide influence on children’s personal development.Previous studies considered that teacher-student relationship and self-regulation are often single, but the interaction model broke the previous linear and single argument that students affect teacher-student relationship or teacher-student relationship affects students, and proposed that teacher-student relationship and children’s development have mutual influence in the teaching environment.Through the follow-up survey of 137 first-year left-behind children and their substitute teachers in rural areas of Gansu Province for half a year, this study discussed the interaction between teacher-student relationship, children’s self-regulation and their reading comprehension by using the cross-lagged analysis method. The results indicated that:(1)Self-regulation and teacher-student relationship measured at the same time have a correlation with reading comprehension.(2)Self-regulation has a positive predictive effect on the later measured reading comprehension. The better the self-regulation ability, the higher the children’s reading comprehension score.(3)Reading comprehension has a negative predictive effect on the conflict of teacher-student relationship in the post-test.The higher the reading comprehension score of children in the early stage, the less likely the conflict between teachers and students will occur.
