The The formal language of oil painting is a way for painters to express their inner emotions,and it is a medium for conveying the creator’s thoughts.Jewish painter Avigdor Arikha(1929-2010)is a very representative master of representational art in the20 th century.His oil paintings focus on ordinary and small things around him,capturing the fleeting beauty of these things through improvised sketches.The paintings are both authentic and full of strong personal thoughts and emotions,with strong artistic expressiveness.The "Book Fragrance World" series of works takes books as the creative theme.On the basis of studying Arikha’s oil paintings,they explore their unique screen form language,and apply it reasonably to the "Book Fragrance World" series of works.By recording and preserving the beauty of the book house with a brush,they can express the spirit of book fragrance cultivation and the ideological theme of reading and enlightening life.This article first studies the formal language of Avigdor Arikha’s figurative oil painting,discussing its perspective,composition,color,brush strokes,and other aspects to further explore Arikha’s artistic style and emotional expression.Secondly,the author takes his love for books as the emotional foundation,selecting frequent bookstores and people reading in them as the object of depiction,and expounds the application of Arikha’s oil painting formal language in the creation of the "Book Fragrance World" series from the perspective of combining theory and practice.Finally,the author reviewed and summarized his creative practice,hoping to improve his artistic literacy and aesthetic ability by learning Arikha’s formal language of oil painting. |
