Written corrective feedback has been receiving an increasing amount of attention in the researches on the second language learning.Based on the Skill Acquisition Theory and Zone of Proximal Development, dynamic written corrective feedback that focuses on manageable, meaningful, timely and constant feedback was put forward. The effects of dynamic written corrective feedback has been studied in the context of English as a second language, while domestic studies have rarely concentrated on dynamic written corrective feedback. The purposes of the study are to investigate the effects of dynamic written corrective feedback on global errors, local errors and mechanical errors in senior high students’ English writing and to explore the effects of dynamic written corrective feedback on writing accuracy, fluency and complexity.64 students in Tianshui No.10 Senior High School participated in this study. The experimental class was taught with dynamic written corrective feedback, and the control class was taught with direct written corrective feedback. The study included pretest, treatment, posttest and delayed posttest over a 12-week period. At the beginning of the study, two classes were tested by a 30-minute writing as pretest and students in experimental class had a training about the dynamic written corrective feedback.During the treatment, subjects in two classes have written 8 compositions and they have received written corrective feedback. After the treatment, students were examined by another two 30-minute writings as their posttest and delayed posttest. At the end of this study, the global errors, local errors and mechanical errors were calculated by two raters. And the writing accuracy, fluency and complexity were measured by error-free clause ratios, the total number of words within 30 minutes, and the mean length of T-units respectively. The collected data were computed by independent samples t-tests and paired samples t-tests by means of SPSS.27.0.The results of the study indicates that, first of all, dynamic written corrective feedback left positive effects on global errors, local errors and mechanical errors in senior high school students’ English writing. In particular, dynamic written corrective feedback showed a significant decline on mechanical errors.Secondly, dynamic written corrective feedback had a significantly positive effect on senior high school students’ English writing accuracy, while with respect to writing fluency and writing complexity, dynamic written corrective feedback had no significant effect. In conclusion, dynamic written corrective feedback can reduce students’ writing errors and enhance students’ writing.
