The TV Series "A Hundred Steels Theme Song Study For The Series"

On the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China,major film and television platforms have shot and produced numerous film and television works to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Party.Directed by Mao Weining and starring Wang Lei,Chen Xiao,Tong Liya,Li Naiwen,Zhang Xincheng and Guo Xiaodong,the recent revolutionary historical drama "A Hundred Refined Steels" premiered on Hunan TV on 13 June 2021.The drama had high ratings and wide impact among dramas with similar themes.The drama "A Hundred Refined Steels" tells the glorious history of the Communist Party of China(CPC)over its 100 years of existence,using eight panels to connect the arduous journey of the CPC since its birth to the present day,portraying admirable characters such as revolutionary fighters who died for the Party and great figures who dedicated themselves to the country.The play uses a "general history" to describe the entire 100-year history of the Communist Party of China,from the founding of the Party to the fight against poverty in the new era,describing the great process of the birth,construction,development and revival of the Communist Party of China.The music video is embedded at the end of each section,which serves to carry on the previous section and connect to the next section,making the audience enjoy an "immersive" viewing experience with a"time-traveling" plot expression,forming a "frame across space and time"."This is a brand new attempt in a drama on a major historical subject,using music to write the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese Communists in the narrative,and using songs to link a series of revolutionary spirits in the historical story.In this paper,the classic songs reflecting the different historical periods are introduced in four periods and five chapters,summarising the innovative use of film and television music in the drama,which was released on the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Party.The first chapter gives a general overview of the TV series A Hundred Refined Steels and the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese spirit and the Chinese Communists reflected in the series.Chapters 2,3 and 4 analyse the expressions and statements of different classical songs on the spirit of China and the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese Communists in different periods,based on the combing and delineation of the historical lines of a century of Party history.The fifth chapter condenses the thematic relevance and aesthetic sublimation of the TV series A Hundred Refined Steels,based on film and television music.Through the study of the series of theme songs of the TV series A Hundred Refined Steels,the analysis of the large amount of in-picture and out-picture music in the series,as well as the music videos shown at the end of each panel,further elaborates on the use of music to link the history of the Party,and the use of classic songs to bridge time and space,realising the intersection of history and reality and presenting the coherence between the past and the present.At the same time,this paper provides a specific analysis of the unique way in which the series systematically writes about the spirit of China and the connotations of the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese Communists,and elaborates on the significance and value of the all-new,articulated music video in a TV series on the subject of Party history.Every work has its own ideological thrust and central meaning.In the TV series A Hundred Refined Steels,the collision of artistic inspiration and technical means has led to the creation of a number of innovative music video clips.The combination of these music clips and the plot makes the main idea of the drama clear at once.While reflecting the spiritual genealogy of the Chinese Communists,these technical means also contain some philosophical ideas and express some realistic meanings.The artistic elements and technical elements contained in the play express the development of things and the changes of the times,a connotation that needs to be explored in depth,and the embodiment and integration of such periodized elements also promote new innovations and developments in the film and television business.
