Gambling addiction is a major chronic disease of human society. The long-term uninterrupted gambling activities of patients with gambling disorder have caused extremely bad effects on themselves, their family members and the society, especially the negative changes in their own psychological and physiological states, which seriously damage the physical and mental health of the parties involved. And conventional intervention methods are not stable enough. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the related psychological factors that affect the severity of addictive behaviors of gambling disorder and their interaction mechanisms,to analyze the psychological process of typical cases with qualitative research methods, and to explore sustainable and effective psychotherapy methods. This study selected the gambling disorder patients who voluntarily abstain from gambling in the gambling abstinence center as a sample.Through three studies, the mediating role of self-esteem and self-control on impulsivity and psychological craving was specifically explored;and different psychotherapy methods were compared and evaluated.Effects of cognitive behavioral therapy and family therapy on gambling disorder;psychological processes in patients with gambling disorder were analyzed.Study 1 used the self-compiled "General Situation Questionnaire","Gambling Dependence Assessment Scale","Desire Visual Analogue Score","Self-Esteem Scale","Self-Control Scale","Barratt The Impulsivity Scale 11 th Edition was used to analyze the severity of addictive behaviors, age, gender, education level, marriage and family status and other general demographic factors, psychological craving,self-esteem,selfcontrol,etc.The correlation of psychological factors was analyzed, the relationship between influencing factors was explored, and the possible mediating effects of selfesteem and self-control on impulsiveness and psychological desire were explored. The results suggest that the psychological craving,self-esteem,self-control,impulsivity and the total score of gambling dependence in the experimental group have a statistically significant correlation.Further path analysis was carried out to obtain a model of influencing factors of the severity of gambling disorder, that is,self-esteem affects impulsivity by affecting self-control,and then affects the severity of gambling disorder, and psychological craving directly affects the severity of gambling disorder.Study 2 carried out psychological intervention research on gambling behavior on the basis of the mediation model.Cognitive behavioral therapy or family therapy was given to patients with gambling disorder during voluntary treatment in gambling rehabilitation centers, and the short-term and long-term therapeutic effect. In this study, the experimental group was divided into a cognitive behavioral group and a family group, who completed cognitive behavioral therapy or family therapy, and then conducted psychological assessments on the 1st,21 st,and 180 th day of enrollment.Through the comparison between groups, the results suggest that both cognitive behavioral therapy and family therapy can significantly improve gambling dependence, depression, anxiety, sleep quality, psychological craving,self-esteem,self-control,impulsivity,short-term and long-term effects of family therapy are superior.in cognitive behavioral therapy. At last,it conducted a qualitative study on the typical cases of family therapy intervention in gambling disorders.By reviewing the recorded data, analyzing the interview content, combined with the theoretical model obtained from the previous research,we explored the effective mechanism of psychotherapy. The results suggest that through family treatment intervention, the social support system of gambling abstainers has been effectively reconstructed.Gambling abstainers begin to accept and make rational use of the objective and psychological support of their families, change unreasonable beliefs and adjust their goals and behaviors.Cognitive changes based on family emotional support can effectively improve the self-esteem and self-control of abstainers, reduce the gambling impulse and psychological desire of abstainers, and reduce gambling behavior. To sum up,the psychological influencing factors of gambling disorder include psychological desire,self-esteem,self-control and impulse.Self esteem affects impulsivity by affecting self-control,and then affects the severity of gambling disorder.Psychological desire directly affects the severity of gambling disorder.Psychotherapy can significantly improve gambling dependence, depression, anxiety, sleep quality, psychological desire,self-esteem,self-control and impulse, and the effect of family therapy is better.Through family therapy intervention,it effectively reconstructed the social support system of gambling abstainers, improved self-esteem and self-control,reduced impulse, desire and the dependence on gambling.
