| In the course of the study of contemporary epistemology skepticism has always been an issue of the same importance as the nature of knowledge.Foreign academic circles have systematically sorted out and studied the solutions to the skeptical problem.The solutions to the contemporary skeptical problem mainly include the solutions of Moorism and contextualism.Moorism,based on common sense,directly asserts that we have everyday knowledge and thus negates the argument for the hypothesis of skepticism.However,the argument of Moorism is so arbitrary that it has been refuted by critics.Contextualism is a way to measure a proposition by using the standard of context and judge whether the proposition can be counted as knowledge in different contexts to respond to the problem of skepticism.Although contextualism has a very extensive influence and high reference value,it also has its own inextrable defects.Therefore,after the dilemma of Moorism and contextualism,the research on solving the problem of skepticism is also continuing to move forward.Neo-moorism stands out among all kinds of new strategies and becomes one of the most effective theoretical means to solve the problem of skepticism after Moorism and contextualism.The theoretical value of neo-Moorism is not to be underestimated.On the one hand,the new Moorism optimizes the solution of Moorism and overcomes the defect of previous Moorism which simply emphasizes common sense and lacks effective demonstration.On the other hand,in contrast to the solution of contextualism,Neo-Moorism directly negates the problem of skepticism,avoids the revision of knowledge standards,and gets rid of the inherent dilemma of contextualism from the root,which provides sufficient epistemological explanation for solving the difficult problem of skepticism.Therefore,Neo-Moorism’s solution to the problem of skepticism is worth paying attention to and exploring.This paper wants to study how neo-Moorism solves the problem of skepticism.First of all,we need to understand the content and essence of the problem of skepticism,so we need to sort out the development of skepticism.Under the advocacy of intellectuals such as Black and Pritchard,Neo-Moorism has achieved certain research results.Scholars of Neo-Moorism have provided us with a series of persuasive strategies to solve the difficult problem of skepticism.Neo-moorism has its unique theoretical advantages,but every new theory put forward will be criticized and questioned to some extent,so we should make an analysis of the relevant problems faced by Neo-Moorism.The main purpose of the study of neo-Moorism solution strategy is to deepen the understanding of the problem of skepticism,and to highlight the unique advantages of its own theory by comparing it with other relevant theories,which is conducive to the improvement of contemporary theory of knowledge. |
