A Study On The Style And Implication Of Chang Yu’s Animal Painting

As one of the painters studying in France in the early 20 th century,Chang Yu traveled in art and enjoyed this way.He pursues a simple and peaceful poetic beauty,conveying the painter’s profound understanding of life’s fate in various periods with written lines,exaggerated and naive modeling,and subjective expression of color.Chang Yu sincerely expresses that the animals in the pink period are cute,sweet,and warm,while the animals in the black period are small,lonely,and sorrowful.The artistic temperament of being dissolute and unrestrained,as well as the identity of an Oriental artist,endow her animal theme works with profound artistic connotation.Before his death,he was forgotten by history and lived his life by nature,but the animals left by Chang Yu were eternal in the long river of time.Today,his talent is gradually known to the world,his painting style and artistic spirit are gradually recognized and paid attention to,and his unique artistic language also provides another new perspective for the exploration and innovation of modern Chinese art.On the basis of literature theoretical research,this article uses image analysis and summary methods to cite Chang Yu’s animal theme paintings of different periods,and analyzes the painter’s unique artistic style,as well as the artistic ideas and spiritual world conveyed behind the works.The thesis mainly consists of the following parts: Chapter 1 discusses the research background,research objects,and significance of the topic,expounds the current status of research on the animal subject painting of Changyu at home and abroad,lists relevant literature,and summarizes the research methods of this article.The second chapter first takes Chang Yu’s growth experience as a timeline,discussing the formation of his artistic style in three stages,from the edification of traditional culture in his childhood,to the enlightenment of modern art in his adult studies in Japan,and finally to the nourishment of Western art in his study in Paris,France;Secondly,combining the social environment and the personality of Chang Yu at that time,it analyzes and discusses the process of animal theme painting.The third chapter analyzes the painting style of Chang Yu’s animal theme.Taking Changyu’s animal paintings as an example,this paper analyzes the artistic characteristics of Changyu from the four main elements of line,color,modeling,and composition.The fourth chapter is the exploration of the meaning of Chang Yu’s animal theme painting.Combining specific works to analyze the symbolism of animal images,ethnic element decorative patterns,poetic artistic features,and the concept of Changyu’s artistic life in animal themed works,we will deeply explore the origin of the formation of the image meaning.The fifth chapter is the contemporary inspiration of Chang Yu’s animal theme painting.Based on the soil of oriental aesthetics,Chang Yu’s works on animal themes construct his own modern artistic language with a free and independent artistic personality.This is an attempt by Chang Yu to explore and innovate the path of integration between China and the West.His spirit of not following the tide and daring to experiment deserves our study and consideration.This topic also aims to inspire us to ponder the relationship between traditional painting forms and modern artistic concepts through the study of the painting style and artistic ideas of the Changyu animal theme,as well as how to form a modern painting form that has the artistic style of our own nation and is not outdated and outdated.We still need to explore more.
