This report is based on simulating Chinese-English consecutive interpreting of two keynote speeches at the 2021 Conference on Education for International Understanding.According to the Theory of Negative Transfer of Mother Tongue and quality criteria of interpreting(faithfulness, expressiveness, conciseness and coherence),the author analyzed the significant Chinglish errors in the interpreting problems at three levels,i.e.Chinese idioms and abstract nouns at the lexical level,Chinese “ba” sentences and zero-subject sentences at the syntactic level,as well as redundancy and lack of coherence at the discoursal level. To resolve these problems, corresponding interpreting strategies were proposed, namely, liberal interpreting, conversion, omission and addition. In last chapter, the author conclude the major findings and limitations. It aims to cope with Chinglish to improve the quality of consecutive interpreting. It is hoped that this study result may provide a theoretical and practical reference for learners of consecutive interpreting.
