Abstract/Summary:
This translation practice is based on the book Contract Drafting and Negotiation,an informative reference book on contracts,and studies the translation methods of such texts under the guidance of Skopos theory,which has certain practical significance.In this report,the author first makes a brief analysis of the background of the task and features of the text,which is an informative text of contracts and is highly specialized.In this regard,the author has made adequate preparations for the translation,including the preparation of translation tools and translation theory,analyzing the feasibility of Skopos theory to guide the translation of contract texts and clarifying the specific content of the three principles.On this basis,the author analyzes typical cases in translation practice at both the lexical and sentence levels under the guidance of Skopos theory,and summarizes the translation methods applicable to contract texts.At the lexical level,the author analyzes the translation through three methods: semantic choice,conversion of part of speech and semantic extension.At the sentence level,the author adopts the three translation methods of translating into passive sentences,translating into active sentences and translating into sentences without subject,taking into account the specific situation;for conditional sentences,the author mainly translates the conditional guidance words through free translation and omission;for long sentences,the author uses sequential translation and inverted translation to develop the case study.Finally,the author summarizes the translation practice.Contract texts have a certain degree of professionalism and should be translated in a practical way to ensure that the translation is accurate and effective.This report aims to analyze the problems encountered in the translation of informative text of contracts and the solutions under the guidance of Skopos theory,and to summarize the whole translation process,hoping to provide some reference for translators in relevant translation practice.
