Research On The Law Of Negation Of Materialist Dialectics

As a basic law of materialist dialectics,the law of negation has an important position in the entire theoretical system of materialist dialectics,and it is inseparable from this law to correctly grasp the problems of "contradiction","inevitability","development" and "truth" in the sense of dialectics.In addition,the law of negation is also a methodological prerequisite for our understanding of Marx and Engels’ critical theory of capitalism.At present,the interpretation of the methodological basis of Marx’s Capital from the law of negation is one of the hot issues discussed in the academic circles.Moreover,at present,there are still some differences in the understanding of the law of negation in domestic academic circles,and some issues still need in-depth research to be clearly distinguished,so it is still very necessary to continue to explore the content,status and role of the negation law of negation.This paper focuses on the following four aspects of "the law of the negation of materialist dialectics" :In the first part,the paper discusses the philosophical historical origin of the law of negation from the three periods of the development of Western philosophy,namely the ancient Greek period,the medieval theological period,and the German classical philosophical period.In ancient Greece,some philosophers before Socrates had already begun a preliminary exploration of the connotation of "negation" and the form of the "Trinity".Since Socrates,ancient Greek philosophy has entered a golden age of development,and with the development of dialectics by Socrates,Plato,and Aristotle,the negation of negation has also gained fertile soil for its own fertility.During the medieval theological period,imbued with religious philosophy,the negation of negation began to be combined with theology,and was supplemented by the interpretation of religious doctrine.During the period of German classical philosophy,the three philosophers Kant,Fichte,and Schelling all showed their extensive application of the "Trinity" form in their own philosophical systems,and at the same time,Fichte and Schelling also explored the initiative of the abstract "self" to varying degrees,and promoted the formation of the negative law of negation.Hegel was the first to clearly put forward the law of negation,and the dialectical movement relying on the concept revealed the "self-denial" nature of the law of negation and the operating structure of the "three-stage" period.Although his negation of negation thought has never been free from the shackles of idealism,Hegel’s views have profoundly enlightened Marx and Engels’ views on the law of negation,and have become an important theoretical source for them to study the negation law of materialist dialectics.In the second part,the paper focuses on the interpretation,transformation and application of the law of negation by Marx and Engels.First,Marx,on the basis of elaborating on the negation process of the negation of Hegel’s rational self-movement,revealed that the limitation of this movement is that it is only an "abstract form of movement." Engels positively expounded that the law of negation is a universal law that really exists in the development of real things,and confirmed the objectivity and universality of the negation law of negation.Secondly,on the one hand,Marx and Engels reversed the relationship between "reality negation" and "thinking negation" in Hegel’s conceptual dialectic,and established the origin of "reality negation" to "thinking negation";On the other hand,the relationship between the "dialectical movement of reality" and the "dialectical movement of concepts" is reversed,and the root nature of the "dialectical movement of reality" to the "dialectical movement of concepts" is established.Thus,Marx completed the materialist transformation of the law of Hegel’s negation.Finally,the paper introduces the application of Marx and Engels to the law of negation of negation.In Capital,Marx,on the basis of a detailed examination of the actual development process of capitalism,exposed the intrinsic nature of the "self-denial" of the capitalist mode of production and the cyclical process of "self-proliferation" of capital.In the theory of scientific socialism,Marx and Engels stood on the basis of the development of the entire human society and clarified that socialism is the "renunciation" of capitalism.In "Anti-Dühring",Engels refuted Dühring’s misinterpretation of Marx’s use of the negation law of negation.In the third part,the paper expands the negative law of negation from four aspects.First,to understand "contradiction" from the negation law of negation,then "contradiction" in the dialectic sense refers to the self-opposition of the same thing.Second,to understand "necessity" from the negation law of negation,then "necessity" in the dialectic sense means that the basis for the existence and development of things is within itself.Third,to understand "truth" from the perspective of the law of negation of negation,then,"philosophical truth" emphasizes the dialectical movement with "necessity" expressed in the form of negation of negation.Fourth,to understand "development" from the law of negation,then the driving force of "development" lies in the "self-denial" of the thing or concept itself.In the fourth part,the paper analyzes the theoretical and practical significance of correctly grasping the law of negation.From a theoretical point of view,the in-depth study of the law of negation of is conducive to deepening our understanding of materialist dialectics.In addition,the study of the law of negation is also helpful to promote the study of the methodological issues of Capital.From a practical point of view,the study of the law of negation helps us correctly understand the relationship between socialism and capitalism.In addition,the law of negation can provide methodological guidance for us to scientifically think about the "development" of our society.
