Maurice Merleau-Ponty(March 14,1908 ~ May 3,1961)was an important representative of Phenomenology aesthetics.Merleau-Ponty plays an important role in French academia.He inherited the phenomenology of Husserl and established his own theory,which made a significant turn in the phenomenological movement.Merleau-Ponty seeks to restore the status of the Sensible World.Art became more and more important in his theory.Moreover,the discussion of art is inseparable from signs.It can be said that Merleau-Ponty’s aesthetic is composed of the three parts: art,being and signs.Therefore,the dissertation researches on the art symbolism of Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenological aesthetics.The specific content is as follows:The introduction includes three parts: research background,research status and research significance.The first chapter mainly discusses Merleau Ponty’s philosophical theory,and defines this topic to clarify the research content.Merleau Ponty’s philosophical thoughts is the birthplace of his phenomenological aesthetic thoughts,so it needs to be first explained.It mainly includes the basic philosophical thoughts of Merleau Ponty’s phenomenology of perception,the ontology of flesh.The second chapter mainly discusses the relationship between perception and art in Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenological aesthetics.Merleau-Ponty,based on the phenomenology of perception,discussed the core role of perception in art,including the characteristics and the personality of artistic perception.The third chapter focuses on the speaking artistic symbols.Merleau-Ponty draw a distinction between a speaking word and a spoken word in Phenomenology of Perception,which appeared repeatedly in the subsequent theoretical process and was enriched in connotation.Art has been discussed in detail as a model of speaking word.The fourth chapter researches on artistic symbols under thought of bodyintersubjectivity.Merleau-Ponty transformed intersubjectivity into body-intersubjectivity,which influenced Merleau-Ponty’s view of artistic symbols.By focusing on the course of art-receiving,artistic symbols are considered as the public body of self and others,and participate in human communication activities as para-subject.The fifth chapter focuses on the academic significance of art symbolism of MerleauPonty’s phenomenological aesthetics.From the perspective of western academic history,Merleau-Ponty’s distinctive and original thoughts have had a profound impact on many theories behind him,and have made significant contributions to western phenomenological aesthetics,western aesthetics perception theories,and western art semiology.The sixth chapter focuses on the influence of art symbolism of Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenological aesthetics in China.From the perspective of the study of contemporary China’s literary aesthetics,Merleau Ponty’s thoughts have great inspiration for the innovation and development of China’s literary aesthetics.It has a very beneficial enlightenment on the transformation of thinking modes,the explanatory power of the emerging art forms,and the aesthetic education. |
